So I would like to share a story about these profile photos that were shoot in 2017.
Having worked for an pop-up booth at an electronic music festival in Korea, I had a chance to connect with one beauty business director who was in charge of the event from my temporary work. Even after the festival work, she offered me an opportunity for photo shooting to be used for their online to offline style curating business.
Therefore, I was offered hair styling and professional makeup for free and then I was supposed to do modeling in the partnering photo studio. Despite the fact that I am not obviously a professional model, I wanted to do well but compared to the other models there, my facial expressions only looked surprisingly gloomy. Never really able to smile, I could see myself from the monitors while shooting.
Then I heard someone saying towards me, “Well, should lose like 8kg to do this”

여름철 진행하는 페스티벌 기간이면 현장은 공연 뿐 아니라 열띤 마케팅의 장으로도 변모한다. 삼년 전 여름, 한 페스티벌에 입점한 O2O 뷰티 서비스 홍보 부스에서 일을 한 계기로 해당 비즈니스 관계자 분과 연결되어, 페스티벌 이후에 당사 뷰티 서비스 홍보사진 촬영을 제안받았다. 메이크업과 헤어 서비스를 제휴 부티크에서 무료로 받은 뒤, 사업 파트너 사진관에서 촬영을 하는 일정이었다.
이전에 겪어 본 어떤 촬영보다 꽤 전문적인 촬영인데다 현장의 다른 모델들은 경험과 여유가 있어 보여 굉장히 기가 죽어 있었는데, 사진사 분께서 굉장히 못마땅해 하셨다. 경험을 떠나 여기까지 기회를 잡고 모델로 섰는데, 나도 이왕이면 잘 한다는 싶다는 말이 듣고 싶어 노력해봤으나 찍히는 테스트 샷이 모니터링 된 결과는 처참히도 굳어진 내 표정만을 보여주더라.
그러다 들은 한 문장은 바로 ‘아, 8kg 정도는 더 빼야겠네’ 였다.
